Avilon
Avilon is a fashion and lifestyle e-commerce platform spanning clothing, accessories, footwear and lifestyle products. The brief was a modern, product-focused store on WordPress and WooCommerce with a strong emphasis on visual merchandising, simple navigation and conversion. We built it as a brand-led shopping experience rather than a plain WooCommerce catalogue, with a layered homepage that carries customers from brand discovery through categories, new arrivals and featured products to checkout.

01 The challenge
Fashion e-commerce is highly visual — customers judge style, product and brand before they decide to buy. Rather than a basic WooCommerce catalogue, Avilon needed a brand-led shopping experience: products shown prominently, categories easy to discover, a premium aesthetic, and simple browsing that works on any device — all managed by the store team from WordPress.
The shopping journey we designed for
Discover the brand → explore categories → discover new arrivals → browse featured products → explore content → shop → purchase.
02 The solution
A custom WooCommerce build organised around product discovery and visual storytelling, with the homepage layered as several merchandising surfaces.
Homepage merchandising layers
- A large campaign hero pairing lifestyle photography with a focused promotional message and CTA, so seasonal collections can take priority
- Visual “Shop by Category” cards — a faster entry than a text menu
- A New Arrivals section that pulls recently added products straight onto the homepage
- A Featured Products section for bestsellers, promotions and seasonal pushes
- Large promotional banners that break the page into focused campaigns without interrupting browsing
- An editorial blog section, so the site is commerce plus content plus brand storytelling, not just a product grid
Product-focused UI/UX
The product grid keeps attention on the product itself — photography, name, price, sale indicators and variations in a clean hierarchy. For fashion this matters: the first purchasing decision is usually made on presentation alone.
WooCommerce foundation
WooCommerce is the e-commerce engine — a structured product and order system supporting the full product → cart → checkout → order journey, with products, categories, inventory, pricing, orders and store content all managed from the WordPress dashboard.
Multiple shopping entry points
The homepage was built with several paths rather than forcing everyone through one: hero → shop now → discovery; category → products; new arrivals → product → purchase; featured products → purchase; and blog → content → product discovery. Shopping actions stay visible throughout.
Fashion-focused visual design
Generous white space and restrained typography keep the focus on the photography — clean layouts, large product imagery, minimal clutter, consistent spacing and clear CTAs, for a premium store aesthetic without unnecessary effects.
Responsive across devices
Product grids, navigation, banners, typography and CTAs adapt to desktop, tablet and mobile — not a shrunk-down desktop layout, but a browsing experience that stays intuitive at every breakpoint, which matters for a mostly-mobile fashion audience.
Merchandising and content control
Dedicated homepage sections let the store promote new arrivals, bestsellers, featured products, seasonal collections and campaigns as the catalogue changes. The blog adds a second discovery path — content → interest → product → purchase — and a base for style guides, trend pieces and collection announcements that support organic growth. Products, prices, imagery, promotional content and posts are all edited from the familiar WordPress dashboard.
03 Results
- Brand presentation, product merchandising, content and e-commerce brought into one cohesive experience — a visual shopping journey, not a catalogue-first interface
- Large lifestyle imagery and clean grids keep products the primary focus
- Multiple homepage entry points make categories and products easier to discover
- A flexible merchandising system for new arrivals, featured products and campaigns as the catalogue evolves
- A structured WooCommerce foundation that scales with the product range
- Full control of products and site content from the WordPress dashboard, across desktop, tablet and mobile
The work was less about adding products to a store and more about building an environment where brand, imagery, products, content and conversion work together — a modern, responsive, scalable WooCommerce experience that makes fashion discovery simple and visual.
